The pose was based in one of Alex Ross finished arts for DC...
Modeling, rendering and postworking took me about 6 hours..If i see enough people interesting i will make a very detailed tutorial on how i created this, from scratch (modeling) until the final post-worked picture..
I'll start by saying this is incredibly composed and rendered. I'm not a 3D artist so I can't speak to the rendering of the image in whatever program you used, but I can speak to the simpler artistic effects used here. Your pose and temperature of the piece is a little off. Legs spread and thigh muscles tensed is a standing pose...if Aquaman is jumping out of the ocean as the water spray suggests then the legs should be together or only slightly splayed as he would be swimming to the surface. The temperature of the piece is in contrast to itself. The cool tones of the ocean should be warmer with the dark stormy sky overhead. The ocean reflects the sky. His upper body is toned warm from the sky but his lower extremities are cool from the ocean. It feels like two different pieces put together. Hope this was helpful.
I think it's cool. Of course the color combination is unnatural, but I like it artistically. It has that 'movie poster' kind of look about it. The contrast gives it a great look. Sweet texture on the suit - can you send me a private message where you got it?
