Commission image for :iconravenwood0713:

im pretty proud of this one...

for several reasons...

1) there are 5 different outfits used on this one...i made separate renders and merged them in photoshop...that was a very time consuming procedure!

2) the amount of postwork is enormous...it took 2 times longer than everything else in the past

3) my friend and my teacher :icondeligaris: took enormous effort helping me with this one, especially in the background...thank you so much Nick...your help is greatly appreciated.

4) the result was above my expectations....hope you like it as well!!!

5) thank you also, Kevin for your wonderful idea with this one...that was a real challenge for me! :)

p.s. all outfits are made from Powerage....keep up the great work Stefan...check his store at Renderosity...he makes amazing stuff!

I have never got into doing critiques here, but this piece really stood out to me. I can easily see this on the cover of Heavy Metal Magazine. It makes me want to read the graphic novel that goes with it. (Even if it only exists in my mind.)

I have looked at this for a good while and it just makes me like it more and more. Here is why..

The color in this is amazing. The blue that is used here around the purples, pinks and oranges stand out as if it were candy or a liquid.

The Idea of a lesser detailed background with a very detail foreground is almost ALWAYS a hit. I love it with that design principle is used well.
Her being so detailed makes her stand out at you very well.

The movement is also very well done. I know she is not moving per se, but rather it feels like she is ABOUT to move. I like to think of it as: The deep breathe before the fight. The wind blowing the sand and the ships rising as depicted makes me think I can hear and feel the hot sand blowing by.

The light is very subtle and the shines are used sparingly and with taste. (Something that is all too often overused)
I like how you are not scared to go very dark in places to really pull the eyes into places and create depth.

The pose is also very nice. I'm glad she isn't floating or doing some other stereotypical "sexy" thing that only females without a spine could do. This woman is a warrior and you can tell that fact in two seconds flat.

The only ONE thing I might say I would improve on, is there is something about the eyes. I think maybe they are hard to see just didn't strike me the same as the rest of her. But in the end I don't think I would change it. I would hate for her to have giant goofy eyes. (Another thing done ALL too much)

In closing, I would like to say I hope to be able to do some work at this level...and I hope you continue to improve and can look back on this piece and see how much better you are even then. I hope you can make this available as a LARGE full size poster through the net somewhere.

Best wishes and happy creating.
